There are two kinds, one is a shareable link which will open the note in your default browser, and the other is a note link which will open the note in the same window you are working in. Now when you click on it Evernote will open a new window in your default browser.Įvernote allows you to create a note link for each note you have stored in your account. Just copy the URL directly from your browser bar and paste that into the link text box. All you need to do is select text or an image, right click and choose Link. It saves me a lot of time clicking around, which might be more annoying than time consuming. You can create a link in Evernote for almost anything. Aside from storing information, I use links to launch certain websites and folders on my computer. I definitely have more thoughts to share but I want to get some more experience before writing them up.I’m a graphic designer and I use Evernote to help me do my work every single day. I’m planning on writing some more about the new Evernote apps in a few weeks when I’ve been working with them for longer. I hope someone else finds this helpful! One of the big draws to Evernote for me is this ability to create links to notes from other apps that work on any device, and these tools I’ve build make that functionality way easier to use. The shortcut I built to do this transformation is here. Now what about iOS? On iOS the same “copy internal link” button exists, but TextExpander isn’t really viable if you’re using an external keyboard. With this in place, I can click “copy internal link” in Evernote, type enint, and boom - I’ve got my internal link. I chose to use TextExpander and JavaScript to accomplish this transformation. I only needed to transform my “internal” link into an “in-app” note link. It turns out that Evernote supports a few different kind of links and these evernote:/// links are still actually supported. These links even work on iOS! This handy shortcut was gone. This was super useful for linking to notes from other apps like OmniFocus. This meant instead of getting a link to, you’d get an evernote:/// link that would jump straight into the app. The old client had a convenient way for you to copy a “classic” note link.

That all said, there’s one feature that’s missing that I rely on all the time. I’m anxious to see where they go with this new vision for the app. While it’s lost a few features from the older Mac client, I’m so far happy with it. This client is now more in line with their iOS app versions. A few days ago Evernote released their re-imagined client for the Mac.
